What is metallic bondingMetallic bonding is a unique type of bond that forms in metal atoms. Due to the close proximity and lattice structure that metals atoms form, valence electrons are free to move around to neighboring atoms, and are not bound to one or two nuclei. This free-flowing movement of the electrons is what allows electricity and heat to be easily conducted within metals.
